i was thinking of traveling to VIR in September for the CCS event, and was wondering if it's ok to have my transponder on my fork tube.

I know LRRS is CCS racing, but wasnt sure if they had the requirement to have the transponders on the tail section.

ive seen people run themon the tail, rear fender, on the exhaust bracket etc.. never seen anyone run it on the fork. i guess as long as it can be seen and will go off every time then it shouldnt matter

well i've got a mint tail right now, and i dont want someone to walk up to my bike and drill holes in the tail to relocate my transponder.
i'm only asking, because this has happened to friends that raced in other organizations.

if my tail needs to be drilled, then i will bring one that's been crashed to kingdom come.

I'm pretty sure it was a ccs bike.  I don't remember but was zip tied to the forks.  Tech will certainly let you know.  Go for it.  If it's wrong tell them Jim said it was ok.  If it's good you're welcome.

that's what i'm afraid of.  i had a friend do a race with another org.  he went out on pre-grid & someone came by with a cordless drill and drilled his tail to mount the transponder.  my friend was on his bike and had no idea what was going on.  he said he would have skipped that race, had he known.  his tail was just airbrushed with smazing detail on it.
